Penetration Testing

Blue Team Penetration Testing refers to the defensive security team's active role in detecting, responding to, and mitigating simulated cyberattacks carried out either by an internal Red Team, external penetration testers, or automated adversary emulation tools.

While traditional penetration testing is an "offensive" exercise (Red Team), the Blue Team’s role is defensive — but in the context of pen testing, the Blue Team is not passive. Instead, they're actively engaged in monitoring, identifying, and neutralizing simulated threats in real-time.

This is often part of a larger Purple Team exercise, where offensive (Red) and defensive (Blue) teams collaborate to improve overall security posture.

Red Team Penetration Testing is an advanced, goal-oriented security assessment where a dedicated group of ethical hackers simulates real-world attack scenarios to test an organization's detection, response, and defense capabilities.
